Patricia Shih: Best-Loved Sing-Along Folk Songs
A multi-instrumentalist, Ms. Shih plays 6 and 12 string guitars, piano and Marxophone. She has eight albums to her credit: three for adults, "Woman With One Closed Eye, "Leap of Faith" and "Gold Covered", a tribute to five women folk legends; and five family/children's albums, "Lovabyes" (Creative Child CD of the Year Award & Parents' Choice Recommended Award), "Your ImaginEngine" (Seal of Excellence Award), "The Power of One" (NAPPA Gold Award, Preferred Choice Award and Parents' Choice Approved Award), "Making Fun!" (Preferred Choice Award and Parents' Choice Approved Award), and "Big Ideas!" (Seal of Excellence Award).
Making Memories with Music events will allow participants with opportunities to sing, clap and laugh along with our specially trained musicians. This stroll down Memory Lane will engage everyone in attendance. The music will be accompanied by brief introductions that will put the songs into historical context, highlighting the social significance of folk music in America from the 1940s to the ‘70s and its role in helping to change our society.
