Gail will wow us with her boogie woogie style mixed with classic jazz and pop tunes. Bring your dancing shoes and snapping fingers!
Gail Storm is a local singer/songwriter/pianist-and educator-who performs solo or as band leader. Her repertoire ranges from gritty blues to classic jazz standards, with some originals and pop thrown into the mix. Ms. Storm is also a retired Creative Arts Therapist.
Her influences include the old blues masters (e.g. Meade Lux Lewis, Roosevelt Sykes, Bessie Smith) as well as traditional jazz and swing music (e.g. Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Jordan). Gail’s sound has been described as a mix between modern day per- formers Diana Krall and Marcia Ball. Gail studied classical piano early on and later with internationally acclaimed jazz master Bross Townsend. Gail regularly performs in a wide variety of venues and has radio, film, television, and magazine appearances to her credit.
Making Memories with Music events will allow participants with opportunities to sing, clap and laugh along with our specially trained musicians. This stroll down Memory Lane will engage everyone in attendance. The music will be accompanied by brief introductions that will put the songs into historical context.
